Orin Swift Collection (Red)

I know many of you are not wine drinkers, and there are wines out there that are not this expensive I promise. Check out my "How to like wine" blog before you dive into these wines.

But these are my favorite by far.

Orin Swift "E"

Is it obvious that I'm a fan of Orin Swift wines? The flavor is always consistent. I'm satisfied more and more with each one that I try. "E" is the beginning of Orin Swift's Loaction wines. What he's doing is going to different parts of the world and making wines based on the grape varietals held in that country. It's all a secret so this wine is only here for a limited time. Only 400 cases were distributed between Connecticut and New York. The grapes hail from Spain (hence the name "E" meaning Espana), with varietals of Grenache and Tempranillo from four different regions in the country. It opens up with a medium body and soft tannin to develop a long lasting flavor of oak and fruit on your tongue. The best part about this wine is that it's the most affordable of the Orin Swift collection along with the "F". $19.99, you can't beat that. Why buy a blu ray when you can have a bottle to yourself? What more entertainment do you need?

Orin Swfit "F"

Soft, smooth, and to the point. The "F" is a great representation to get your palate familiar with French Reds. All are usually on the drier side (So if you really loved "E" you may not like this one). Based of of Rhone grapes (Grenache, some Syrah) and Bordeaux varietals (Predominately Merlot), this wine doesn't take as long to open up as the latter. It has a nice smooth finish with hard tannin, and deep fruits.

Abstract (2011)
One of Orin Swift's best blends. Compiled of Grenache, Petit Syrah, and Syrah. So to make it simple, this wine is pretty phemonemal and full of bold spice and fruit. This is the kind of wine I like. At the first glass it is very tight (a term explaining that it hasn't fully developed its flavor. The tight seal is holding in all of the flavor that will come out later) but still suculent. I love this wine. It may be one of my favorites. This wine will be hard to put down but easy girl, it has high alcohol (15.2%). Don't act like a trooper, anyone will get drunk from a bottle of wine.

Palermo (2010)
A full Californian cab that is full of  explosive dark fruits and tannin, starting the drinking with ripe cherry and finishing with fig.The tastes streches and becomes more and more complex. I taste so many deep fruits like currant, cassis, and blackberry in this wine. It is by far my most favorite cab.

Papillon

A cabernet based wine, with aromas of plum and flavors of boysenberry as well as other dark fruits. It is compiled of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Merlot. In new French oak casks, the complexity of flavor inances this wine ten fold, bringin out the right tannin and ending with the smoothest finish you may ever dance with on your palate. The wine tastes like it's worth believe me, maybe even more. Oh by the way, I'm just writing about the first glass, once it opens, words aren't describable on how intesne the flavors become, with notes of more fruit that wasn't even noticeable in the first glass. I wish I bought the larger bottle.

How to like wine

I have noticed that many of you gravitate towards any of my posts that recall a drunken adventure, or a new fun cocktail to try.

When are you guys going to give wine a try?

Here are some reasons to give wine a shot

DISCLAIMER: No offense to the fans of Sutter Home, Gallo Valley, Barefoot, Yellow Tail, or any other sweet wine. Those are made of grapes, but they fill it will a lot of residual sugar, and there is no care of "TLC" made with those wines. I guarantee all of you I can find a wine for you that isn't made from one of these vineyards. They are great for the people who only have one puropose, but I promise I can help you find inexpensive wines that are great for groups or just for yourself.

What's wrong with being classy ? You can seem sophisticated, and romantic with the ladies or the fellas (pick one) I'm Pro Monogamy.

Jesus loved his wine, I mean it is his blood right? How cool would it be to get drunk off the holy spirit?
